RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-104


A resolution approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide for administrative costs associated with establishing programs and delivering services to adults, youth and dislocated workers administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center.


Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, has awarded a grant contract no. 04-09-FY4-109-ADMIN in an amount not to exceed two hundred sixteen thousand six hundred twenty seven dollars and fifty-five cents ($216,627.55) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide for administrative costs associated with establishing programs and delivering services to adults, youth, and dislocated workers administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That grant contract no. 04-09-FY4-109-ADMIN by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide for administrative costs associated with establishing programs and delivering services to adults, youth, and dislocated workers administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, in an amount not to exceed two hundred sixteen thousand six hundred twenty seven dollars and fifty-five cents ($216,627.55), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Nashville Career Advancement Center in the current fiscal year budget based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
