SUBSTITUTE RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1614


A resolution recognizing the accomplishments of the departing members of the Tenth Metropolitan County Council.

WHEREAS, Tuesday, August 19, 2003, will be the last official meeting of the Tenth Metropolitan County Council; and

WHEREAS, the members that will be returning next term wish to express their sincere appreciation to all members of the Tenth Metropolitan County Council who leave the Council, those members being as follows:

WHEREAS, we recognize the work and effort made by our departing colleagues, the time spent away from their respective families attending to Council business, and the countless hours spent dealing with constituent issues and concerns; and

WHEREAS, the members who leave the Council have served with distinction on behalf of the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the members of the 10th Metropolitan Council that will return for the 11th Metropolitan Council wish to recognize the departing members of the 10th Metropolitan Council for their work and extend to each of them sincere best wishes for happiness and success in all of their future endeavors;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the work and efforts of the departing members of the 10th Metropolitan County Council.

SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
