RESOLUTION NO. RS99-81

A resolution approving a lease agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Department and the Xerox Corporation for the lease of copiers.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government has entered into a lease with Xerox Corporation for copiers for the Metropolitan Police Department (copy attached hereto); and,

Whereas, Metropolitan Code of Laws Section 5.04.020, which applies to all departments, boards, commissions and agencies, provides that all leases for equipment shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council if the annual expenditure for said lease exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000) per year; and,

Whereas, the annual expenditure to lease said copiers exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000) per year; and,

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve said contract.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the contract for the lease of copiers between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Department and Xerox Corporation, (copy attached hereto and incorporated herein), at the annual lease cost of fifty thousand three hundred eighty dollars and eighty cents ($50,380.80) is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
