RESOLUTION NO. RS99-79

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and The State of Tennessee regarding operation and/or maintenance of a permanent household hazardous waste collection site.

Whereas, Tennessee Code Annotated 68-211-828 authorizes the expenditure of funds from the Solid Waste Management Fund to the four largest metropolitan cities which have established permanent household hazardous waste collection sites for grants to maintain and/or operate the permanent household hazardous waste collection sites; and

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, ("the Metropolitan Government") accepted a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation, ("the State") to provide assistance in maintaining and operating a permanent household hazardous waste collection site pursuant to Ordinance No. O97-731; and

Whereas, Ordinance O97-731 provided that future amendments to the grant should be subject to approval of the Metropolitan Government by resolution; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government and the State desire to amend the term of the grant agreement to extend the term thereof, and for other purposes,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: The attached amendment to the grant agreement for maintenance and operation of a permanent household hazardous waste collection site is approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said grant.

Section 2 : That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
