RESOLUTION NO. RS99-61

A resolution approving a lease agreement by and between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Police Department, and Acton Mobile Industries, Inc. for a modular building for the training academy.

Whereas, the Police Department, desires to lease a modular building for its police training academy; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Division of Purchasing has negotiated a lease for such a modular building with Acton Mobile Industries, Inc.; and

Whereas, Metropolitan Code 5.04.020 provides that all leases for equipment shall be approved by resolution if the annual expenditure exceeds $5,000.00 per year; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve said lease agreement.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Lease Agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the Police Department, and Acton Mobile Industries, Inc. for the lease of a new modular building with the option to purchase, as further described in the Lease Agreement, for use at the Metro Police Training Academy for a term of forty eight (48) months, at a base rent of $580.00 per month, copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring.
