RESOLUTION NO. RS99-51

A resolution honoring Mrs. Ann Stahlman Hill.

WHEREAS, the lives of millions of children in Nashville, Tennessee and throughout the country have been enriched by the dedication, commitment, courage and tenacity of Mrs. Ann Stahlman Hill; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Hill has been a driving force in the development of Nashville Children’s Theatre’s evolution from an all-volunteer organization to one of the country’s very finest professional companies; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Hill spearheaded the effort to build the current permanent home of the NCT; and

WHEREAS, her achievements in our city has brought her to prominence within the field of Children’s Theatre in the regional, national and international community; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Hill is well known as "the great volunteer of the American Theatre"; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ann Stahlman Hill is the very appropriate honor of the Nashville Children’s Theatre "GrandAnn Day on Sunday, November 7, 1999; and

WHEREAS, the Council declares Sunday, November 7, 1999, as Ann Stahlman Day.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as honoring Mrs. Ann Stahlman Hill.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to Mrs. Ann Stahlman Hill.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
