RESOLUTION NO. RS99-45

A resolution recognizing the Donelson Little League Baseball Team for their outstanding accomplishments.

WHEREAS, the Nashville community was proud and honored this year as the Donelson Little League Baseball Team finished first place and was named the 1999 Junior League State Champions; and

WHEREAS, the team, consisting of youth ages 13 and 14, compiled an impressive, undefeated record in both the state and district competition; and

WHEREAS, team members are Michael Brockman, Mario Calvetti, Patrick Corcuera, Tyler Farrar, Jonathan Ginn, Chris Heflin, Michael Henson, Cory Herbert, David Hooper, Ryan Humphreys, Maurice Mathews, Jake McFerrin, Blake Simmons, and Jason Wheeler; and

WHEREAS, this talented team was directed by Coaches Tom Heflin, Tim Clark and Ken Brockman, and assisted by Scorekeeper Jim Hooper; and

WHEREAS, by their performance the players and coaches have brought recognition to the Metropolitan Government area for not only their athletic abilities, but for their exceptional team play, their dedication, and their sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize the Donelson Little League Baseball Team on being named the 1999 Junior League State Champions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVENRMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the Donelson Little League Baseball Team on being named the 1999 Junior League State Champions.

SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Council Staff Office is directed to prepare certificates to be presented to each member of the team, to the scorekeeper, and to the coaching staff.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
