RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1606

A resolution approving an amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for administrative and operating costs to establish programs to prepare adult, youth and dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center (04-09-PY3-109-ADMIN).

Whereas, Resolution No. RS2003-1458 approved grant contract no. 04-09-PY3-109-ADMIN from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in an amount not to exceed one hundred thirty two thousand nine hundred eighty eight dollars and thirty-nine cents ($132,988.39) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for administrative and operating costs to establish programs to prepare adult, youth and dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant by increasing the grant award by sixty eight thousand four hundred thirteen dollars and thirty cents ($68,413.30) for a total grant award of two hundred one thousand four hundred one dollar and sixty nine cents ($201,401.69); and,
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be accepted.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. 04-09-PY3-109-ADMIN from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, which amendment increases the grant award by sixty eight thousand four hundred thirteen dollars and thirty cents ($68,413.30) for a total grant award of two hundred one thousand four hundred one dollar and sixty nine cents ($201,401.69), a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Nashville Career Advancement Center in the current fiscal year budget based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
