RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1601
A resolution approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of State,
to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting
by and through the Nashville Public Library for the improvement of library
services for persons who are living below the poverty level and or have
other disadvantages.
Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of State, has awarded a grant in
an amount not to exceed thirty one thousand five hundred fifty dollars ($31,550)
to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by
and through the Nashville Public Library for the improvement of library services
for persons who are living below the federal poverty level, who have low
educational attainment or have various other disadvantages; and
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of State and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library for library services for the improvement of library services for persons who are living below the federal poverty level, who have low educational attainment or have various other disadvantages, in an amount not to exceed thirty one thousand five hundred fifty dollars ($31,550), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Nashville Public Library in the current fiscal year budget based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
