RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1600

A resolution approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Arts Commission to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Arts Commission for administration of a local sub-grant program to not for profit organizations.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Arts Commission, has awarded a Grant in an amount not to exceed fifty thousand five hundred eighty five dollars ($50,585) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Arts Commission for administration of a local sub-grant program to not for profit organizations; and

Whereas, Metropolitan Code of Laws §2.112.040(G) allows the Metropolitan Arts Commission to accept funds from other arts organizations by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Arts Commission and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Arts Commission, for administration of a local sub-grant program to not for profit organizations, in an amount not to exceed fifty thousand five hundred eighty five dollars ($50,585) a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That the sum of fifty thousand five hundred eighty five dollars ($50,585) be provided from the Arts Commission budget to provide the required matching share of the grant.

Section 3: That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Metropolitan Arts Commission in the current fiscal year budget based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied

Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
