RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1598

A resolution approving an application for a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Department of Water and Sewage Services for the Multi Hazard Mitigation Planning Grant.

Whereas, U.S. Department of Homeland Security is accepting applications for the Multi Hazard Mitigation Planning Grant to mitigate natural hazards within Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewage Services is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to submit an application for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Multi Hazard Mitigation Planning Grant, for mitigating natural hazards in Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
