RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1562
A resolution accepting the information presented by the Emergency Communications
District Board justifying the increase in the 9-1-1 surcharge for telephone
users.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Emergency Communications District (ECD)
of Metropolitan Nashville has voted to increase the 9-1-1 surcharge from
the current $0.60 per month for residential users to $0.65, and from the
current $1.80 a month for commercial users to $2.00; and
WHEREAS, the ECD board has requested a hearing at the August 5, 2003, meeting of the Metropolitan Council, in accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated §7-86-108, to present the justification for the increase in the 9-1-1 surcharge.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby accepts the information presented by the Emergency Communications District Board justifying the increase in the 9-1-1 surcharge for telephone users in Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
