RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1545


A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Mayor to submit an application and execute the necessary documents for a grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the painting of the Historic Louisville and Nashville Railroad Bridge over the Cumberland River.


Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation is accepting applications under its Transportation Enhancement Program for the painting of the Historic Louisville and Nashville Railroad Bridge over the Cumberland River; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to submit an application and execute all necessary documents for the Transportation Enhancement Program for the painting of the Historic Louisville and Nashville Railroad Bridge over the Cumberland River, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.

Section 2. That funds for any required match of dollars received shall be provided through the budget of the Department of Public Works.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
