RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1529
A resolution approving a grant from the University of Tennessee to The Metropolitan
Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Department
of Human Resources, to provide supervisory and management training for
Metro employees.
Whereas, the University of Tennessee, has awarded a grant in an amount not
to exceed six thousand dollars ($6,000) to the Metropolitan Government of
Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Department of Human Resources
to provide supervisory and management training for Metro employees; and
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the grant by and between the Gannett Foundation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Department of Human Resources to provide supervisory and management training for Metro employees, in an amount not to exceed six thousand dollars ($6,000) a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Department of the Human Resources in the FY04 fiscal year based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT
NO. 1
TO
RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1529
Mr. President:
I Move to amened Resolution No. RS2003-1529 by deleting the phrase "the Gannett Foundation", wherein it appears in Section 1, and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase "The University of Tennessee".
