RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1528

A resolution approving a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court for child support enforcement services.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed Seven Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-One Dollars ($736,571) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court, commencing on July 1, 2003 and extending through June 30, 2004; and

WHEREAS, in order to receive the grant the Metropolitan Government must provide matching funds in the amount of Three Hundred Seventy-Nine Thousand, Four Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($379.445); and

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Juvenile Court for child support enforcement services, in an amount not to exceed Seven Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-One Dollars ($736,571) and for a term commencing on July 1, 2003, and extending through June 30, 2004 and extending through June 30, 2004, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the sum of Three Hundred Seventy-Nine Thousand, Four Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($379.445) be provided from the operating budget of the Davidson County Juvenile Court to provide the required local matching funds.

Section 3. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Davidson County Juvenile Court in the 2003-2004 fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and the matching funds to be applied.

Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
