RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1465


A resolution approving a contract from the Tennessee Department of Transportation concerning signalization at SR 100 at Temple Road, Nashville, Davidson County, LP Project No. 2587.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in recognition of the benefits to be received from the installation of Traffic Signals by the Tennessee Department of Transportation, desires to cooperate with the Department such that the signals may be installed, operated and maintained; and

WHEREAS, It is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this contract be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the contract by and between the Tennessee Department of Transportation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County providing for the signalization at SR 100 at Temple Road in Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County, Project LP 2587, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference, is hereby approved.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Government shall maintain signals and be responsible for the cost related to furnishing electrical current thereto.

SECTION 3. The Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute future agreements necessary for the implementation and completion of Project No. LP 2587, which shall become binding on The Metropolitan Government upon ratification by Resolution supported by 21 affirmative votes of the Metropolitan Council.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
