RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1464


A resolution approving a grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation regarding the permanent Household Hazardous Waste Site.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in recognition of the benefits to be received from the operation of a permanent Household Hazardous Waste site, desires to cooperate with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation; and

WHEREAS, It is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be approved; and

WHEREAS, The State of Tennessee, acting though its Department of Environment and Conservation, has allocated funds for the Household Hazardous Waste Program, Nashville, Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville of Nashville and Davidson County providing for the ongoing operation of the Household Hazardous Waste Program, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference, is hereby approved.

SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute future agreements necessary for the implementation and completion of the Household Hazardous Waste Grant, which agreements shall become binding on The Metropolitan Government upon ratification by Resolution supported by 21 affirmative votes of the Metropolitan Council.

SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
