RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1463

A resolution approving a grant agreement to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Health Department, from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, in an amount not to exceed $12,000 for the provision of a written design for an epidemiological study concerning Cypress Creek in Memphis, Tennessee.

Be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the grant agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Health Department, and the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, for the provision of a written design for an epidemiological study concerning the correlation of health related data for incidence of cancer and other chronic illnesses, birth defects and neurological/behavioral development with chlorinated pesticide levels from water, soil or sediment data, from populations Cypress Creek in Memphis, Tennessee, in an amount not to exceed $12,000.00, and for a term beginning on April 1, 2003 and extending through May 31, 2003, a copy of which is attached hereto and be made a part of this Resolution, be and the same is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Department of Health in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
