RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1460

A resolution authorizing the Mayor to submit an application for a work incentive grant to address service barriers to jobseekers with disabilities to be administered by the Nashville Career Advancement Center.


Whereas, the U.S. Department of Labor is accepting applications for Work Incentive Grants to address service barriers to jobseekers with disabilities; and

Whereas, the Nashville Career Advancement Center is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

Whereas, the Federal Government requires that the grant application be approved by resolution, motion, or similar act of the applicant’s governing body; and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to submit an application for the Work Incentive Grants to address service barriers to jobseekers with disabilities, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
