RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1457

A resolution approving a second amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to provide for reimbursement of expenses associated with occupancy of Department of Labor and Workforce staff in the Career Center.

Whereas, Resolution No. RS2002-1110 approved a grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in an amount not to exceed one hundred nine thousand four hundred ninety seven dollars ($109,497.00) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide space and administrative services for a Career Center facility in Workforce Investment Area 9; and

Whereas, Resolution No. RS2003-1422 amended said grant by increasing the grant to one hundred twenty three thousand nine hundred ninety one dollars and twenty cents ($123,991.20); and

Whereas, the parties wish to further amend said grant by again increasing the grant award by seven thousand two hundred eighty five dollars and eighty cents ($7,285.80) for a total grant award of one hundred thirty one thousand two hundred seventy seven dollars ($131,277.00) and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The second amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, to provide for reimbursement of expenses associated with occupancy of Department of Labor and Workforce staff in the Career Center, which amendment increases the grant award by seven thousand two hundred eighty five dollars and eighty cents ($7,285.80) for a total grant award of one hundred thirty one thousand two hundred seventy seven dollars ($131,277.00), a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
