RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1428

A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the claim of Faye Wolford against the Metropolitan Government for $15,606.00 and directing that this amount be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Whereas, on November 1, 2002, Faye Wolford sustained injuries when exiting the James Robertson side of the Metropolitan Courthouse by catching her heel in a hole in the top step of the stairs, which has no handrail, causing her to fall to the bottom.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that this claim be compromised and settled and that this amount be paid for the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the claim of Faye Wolford in the amount of $15,606.00 and that said amount should be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Section 2: This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
