RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1425

A resolution approving the compromise and settlement of the lawsuit of Lucretia S. Gardner against the Metropolitan Government in the amount of twenty thousand sixty-nine dollars and eighty-nine cents ($20,069.89), and directing that this amount be paid out of the Self Insured Liability Fund.

Whereas, on February 1, 2002, Lucretia S. Gardner was involved in an automobile accident with a Metro Water Services vehicle on Old Lebanon Road and sustained personal and property damage as a result thereof; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that this claim be compromised and settled and that the amount be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the claim of Lucretia S. Gardner against The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the amount of twenty thousand sixty-nine dollars and eighty-nine cents ($20,069.89), and that said amount should be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Section 2: That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
