RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1419

A resolution approving an interlocal agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee for the lease of 30 parking spaces near the Ben West library.

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee have negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding for the lease of thirty (30) parking spaces adjacent to the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower on Union Street with a general location across from the former Ben West Public Library to be used for parking after 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, on the first and third week of each month; and

Whereas, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 12-9-104, provides that interlocal agreements between governments may be approved by resolution.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Interlocal Memorandum of Understanding by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee for the lease of thirty (30) parking spaces adjacent to the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower on Union Street with a general location across from the former Ben West Public Library to be used for parking after 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, on the first and third week of each month, be and the same is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Interlocal Agreement.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
