RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1404

A resolution approving a contract between The Tennessee Department of Transportation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for resurfacing of 31st/Blakemore/Wedgewood Avenue, State Aid Contract No. 37, State Aid Project No. 19-947-8435-04.

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has negotiated a contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the resurfacing of 31st/Blakemore/Wedgewood Avenue from State Route 1 to the I-65 Underpass, Project No. 19-947-8435-04; and

WHEREAS, Metropolitan Council Ordinance No. O85-739 authorized the Metropolitan Mayor to execute any and all contracts necessary to implement the State Aid Highway System Projects, after approval of same by resolution; and

WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve the contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the resurfacing of 31st/Blakemore/Wedgewood Avenue from State Route 1 to the I-65 Underpass.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The contract with Tennessee Department of Transportation for the resurfacing of 31st/Blakemore/Wedgewood Avenue from State Route 1 to the I-65 Underpass, State Aid Contract No. 37, State Aid Project No. 19-947-8435-04, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A, is approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said contract.

SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
