RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1380

A resolution appropriating the amount of $490,000 from the General Fund Reserve Fund to the Metropolitan Historical Commission for the Hermitage Replanting Project.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County have entered into a grant agreement for acceptance of said funds to be distributed to the Hermitage for the tree replanting project and such grant was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Bill No. BL2001-756); and

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation has increased the grant award from two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to four hundred ninety thousand dollars ($490,000) and such increase has been approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by resolution (RS2002-1290); and

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the Hermitage have negotiated an agreement for the receipt of these funds and implementation of the tree replanting project in accordance with the terms set forth by the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation and such contract was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Bill No. BL2001-757).

Now therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of $490,000 from the General Fund Reserve Fund for the Historical Commission for the Hermitage Replanting Project.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
