RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1360

A resolution recognizing Sally M. Beaman posthumous.


WHEREAS, Nashville, Tennessee, lost one of its most beloved and respected matriarchs Sally M. Beaman; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Beaman, a native of Dickson, attended the University of Tennessee, before spending her life taking care of her family, supportive of her husband, and making her community a better place to live; and

WHEREAS, during her lifetime Sally M. Beaman was known for her generosity that included her support for education and the environment, shown by her donations in helping create Beaman Park, the 1,500 acre nature park in Joelton, and numerous projects at Lipscomb University and other colleges throughout the area; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Beaman’s passing leaves a hole in the lives of her family, church, community and those who know her; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Beaman was a devoted and loving wife to the late Alvin G. Beaman for 59 years, a wonderful mother to their three children, a grandmother of nine and a great-grandmother of five; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Sally M. Beaman and express sincere regret at her passing.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Sally M. Beaman posthumous.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to the family of Sally M. Beaman.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
