RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1356

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed four hundred twenty eight thousand eight hundred eight dollars ($428,808) to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission for homemaker and adult day care services; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Metropolitan Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission for homemaker and adult day care services, in an amount not to exceed four hundred twenty eight thousand eight hundred eight dollars ($428,808), a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the sum of one hundred forty two thousand nine hundred thirty six dollars ($142,936) be provided from the department’s budget to provide the required matching share of this grant.

Section 3. That the amount of this grant is hereby appropriated to the Social Services Commission in the current fiscal year budget, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
