RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1354

Whereas, Ordinance Number BL2002-1042 approved a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency in an amount not to exceed one hundred fifteen thousand dollars ($115,000) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage, to fund development of a vulnerability assessment, emergency operating plan and security enhancement planning and design for Metro’s drinking water supply; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant by extending the term dates from December 31, 2002 to March 31, 2003; and,

Whereas, Ordinance Number BL2002-1042 provides that any amendments to this grant may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The amendment to the grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Department of Water and Sewerage, to fund development of a vulnerability assessment, emergency operating plan and security enhancement planning and design for Metro’s drinking water supply, which amendment extends the term date to March 31, 2003, a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
