RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1347

A resolution authorizing the Mayor to submit an application for the Accessible America Award Competition sponsored by the National Organization on Disability for $25,000 dollars to further the ADA program.


Whereas, the National Organization on Disability is accepting applications for the Accessible America Award Competition in which the winner receives twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000) to be used to further the city’s ADA program; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is eligible to participate in the award competition; and,

Whereas, it is required that the application be approved by resolution, motion, or similar act of the applicant’s governing body; and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this application be approved and submitted; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to submit an application for the Accessible America Award Competition sponsored by the National Organization on Disability for twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000) to be used to further the city’s ADA program, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
