RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1340

A resolution authorizing the Mayor to submit an application for Residual Funds from the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Juvenile Court for computer equipment and software.

Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth is accepting applications for residual funds from the FY 2000 Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Programs to be used for computer equipment and software; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Juvenile Court is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

Whereas, the State of Tennessee requires that the grant application be approved by resolution, motion, or similar act of the applicant’s governing body; and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted; and,

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to submit an application for residual funds from the FY 2000 Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant Program, to be used for computer equipment and software a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein.

Section 2. That funds for any required match of dollars received shall be provided through the budgets of the Juvenile Court.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
