RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1339
A Resolution expressing the support of the Metropolitan Council of
the Light Centennial Park Committee’s program to provide outdoor lighting
of trees in Centennial Park for Christmas beginning in December of 2003.
WHEREAS, a non-profit organization known as the Light Centennial Park Committee proposes to provide outdoor lighting of trees in Centennial Park beginning in December of 2003 to create “Music City’s Christmas in the Park”; and
WHEREAS, Light Centennial Park Committee will create and fund this programming at no cost to the Board of Parks and Recreation or the Metropolitan Government as all funding will come from private donations for this lighting program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record expressing its support of the Light Centennial Park Committee’s program to provide outdoor lighting of trees in Centennial Park for Christmas beginning in December of 2003, which program will be funded with private donations at no cost to the Board of Parks and Recreation or the Metropolitan Government.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of Parks and Recreation and to the Mayor.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
