RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1306


A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Board of Public Education and the Metropolitan Department of Health to determine the feasibility of implementing programs based upon the principles of the Save A Life Foundation.


WHEREAS, the Save A Life Foundation provides programming to teach young people in school, including basic life saving skills; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Board of Public Education, working with the Metro Department of Health, determine the feasibility of implementing such programming within our public school system to better prepare our young people in basic life saving skills.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Board of Public Education and the Metropolitan Department of Health to determine the feasibility of implementing programming based upon the principles of the Save A Life Foundation.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Metropolitan Board of Public Education and to the Director of Health.

SECTION 3. That the Metropolitan Board of Public Education and the Director of Health are further requested to inform the Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 thereof, not later than sixty (60) days after the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
