RESOLUTION NO. RS2003-1304

A resolution recognizing Mr. and Mrs. Preston W. (Sarge) Loveless on the occasion of their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary.

WHEREAS, saluting the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Preston and Julia Loveless, who have shared fifty (50) happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a memorable occasion worthy of honor, praise and celebration; and

WHEREAS, Preston and Julia were united in holy matrimony on January 14, 1953, and began their life together; and

WHEREAS, to this union was born one wonderful son, William who has developed into a highly achieving upstanding citizen of his perspective community; and

WHEREAS, Preston who serves as the Democratic Committeeman for the 24th Council District, is a former employee of the Ford Glass Plant, served as the UAW Cap representative for this district, and is active with the UAW Retirees, Julia worked for South Central Bell as well as a solid reassuring homemaker who has always been there as a support for her husband and their son; and

WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Preston W. (Sarge) Loveless are members of the Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ where he is an Elder of the Congregation; and

WHEREAS, the dedication, patience, wisdom, and understanding that they demonstrate on a daily basis have provided a firm foundation in which all of their family members have developed and flourished; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes this extraordinary couple on their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued health and happiness as they embark on their next fifty-year journey.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mr. and Mrs. Preston W. (Sarge) Loveless on the occasion of their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. and Mrs. Preston W. (Sarge) Loveless.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
