RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-992
A resolution requesting the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly to support the adoption of Senate Bill 2748 - House Bill 2830 which would exclude Metropolitan Government from zoning provisions that allow non-conforming business uses to continue operations after zone changes.
WHEREAS, T.C.A. § 13-7-208 allows business uses to continue operations after a change in zoning that would prohibit business activity; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 2748 and House Bill 2830 would exclude Metropolitan Government from those provisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1. The Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly to support the adoption of Senate Bill 2748 - House Bill 2830.
SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Davidson County Delegation to the Tennessee General Assembly.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
