A resolution requesting the Metropolitan Hospital Authority to make reports to the Metro Council on the operation of Bordeaux Hospital and action taken on state inspection reports.

WHEREAS, an inspection conducted February 25, 2002 through March 1, 2002 at Bordeaux Hospital by the Tennessee State Department of Health identified numerous problem areas and resulted in fines for the facility; and

WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the Metropolitan Hospital Authority provide continuing reports to the Metro Council concerning correcting deficiencies identified and the overall operational standards of Bordeaux Hospital.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Metropolitan Hospital Authority to make reports to the Metro Council on the operation of Bordeaux Hospital and action taken on state inspection reports. Said reports shall be filed quarterly beginning May 1, 2002 for the first year and, thereafter, on an annual basis being due on May 1 of each year. Said reports shall include information that reflects issues raised by inspections by governmental authorities, deficiencies noted in such inspections, status of correcting deficiencies, staffing levels at the facility, occupancy rates of the long-term care beds and the critical care beds, and other relevant information as to the appropriate operation of the facility.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to Ms. Roxanne Spitzer, Chief Executive Officer of Bordeaux Hospital, and to each member of the Metropolitan Hospital Authority.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
