RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-980

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant contract by and between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Office of Emergency Management extending the contract dates and revising the reporting requirements and deliverables for implementing the Metropolitan Medical Response System Program.

Whereas, Ordinance No. 099-1819 approved a grant contract from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to the Metropolitan Government, through the Office of Emergency Management, for the development of a Metropolitan Medical Response System to manage human health consequences of a terrorist incident; and

Whereas, the parties have agreed to extend the term of the contract, revise the reporting requirements and change the deliverable dates for implementing the Metropolitan Medical Response System Program; and,

Whereas, Ordinance No. 099-1819 provided that the grant may be amended by resolution receiving twenty-one (21) affirmative votes.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the attached Amendment to Contract No. 282-99-0018 by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Office of Emergency Management, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, be and the same is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said Amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
