A resolution requesting the Mayor, the Vice Mayor, and all Metropolitan Government department heads to notify and invite the district councilmember to all meetings, whether intergovernmental or with non-governmental businesses, organizations or individuals in which an issue is to be discussed that involves a matter in that councilmember's district.

WHEREAS, district councilmembers have a duty to protect the interests of the taxpayers in their district; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the taxpayers of Metropolitan Nashville that the district councilmembers be informed of issues and projects related to their districts; and

WHEREAS, district councilmembers should be informed of and invited to meetings related to matters in their district.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Mayor, the Vice Mayor, and all Metropolitan Government department heads to notify and invite the district councilmember to all meetings, whether intergovernmental or with non-governmental businesses, organizations or individuals in which an issue is to be discussed that involves a matter within that councilmember's district.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is requested to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Mayor, the Vice Mayor, and all Metropolitan Government department heads.

SECTION 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
