RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-922

A resolution to classify public roads in Davidson County, Tennessee.

Whereas, T.C.A. § 54-10-103 requires the legislative body of each county to classify the public roads in each county; and,

Whereas, the public roads of Davidson County are shown on the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and,

Whereas, the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map is on file in the Office of the Department of Public Works and the Office of the Metropolitan Clerk; and,

Whereas, T.C.A. § 54-10-103(b) as amended by Public Acts 1997, Chapter 80, requires that before the county legislative body may classify a road, a list shall be submitted of all county roads, including a summary of changes from the road listing submitted the previous year; and,

Whereas, the Office of the State Comptroller has notified all county highway officials, pursuant to Public Acts 1997, Chapter 80, of the requirement that a summary of changes to the County Road list be submitted to the county legislative body; and,

Whereas, the Metropolitan Council most recently adopted the Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map by Ordinance No. BL2001-916.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. The Official Street and Alley Acceptance and Maintenance Map, as approved by Ordinance No. BL2001-916 and as supplemented by the County Road list attached hereto, be, and the same is hereby, adopted as the road classification for Davidson County pursuant to T.C.A. § 54-10-103.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
