RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-915

A resolution recognizing Margaret Behm on receiving the John C. Tune Public Service Award.

WHEREAS, attorney Margaret Behm has been honored with the John C. Tune Public Service Award by the Nashville Bar Association; and

WHEREAS, the John C. Tune Public Service Award is given to a bar association member "who has shown the highest degree of dedication not only to the lawyer's work but to the betterment of the community in which the lawyer lives;" and

WHEREAS, Margaret Behm is recognized in the legal community for her work as a founding member of the Lawyers' Association for Women, the local organization for professional women known as CABLE, and an organization known as Women in the Nineties that helped women win political office in Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council honor Margaret Behm on receiving the John C. Tune Public Service Award.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as honoring Margaret Behm on receiving the John C. Tune Public Service Award.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a certificate to be presented to Margaret Behm.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
