RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-901

A resolution recognizing Mario Ferrari on being named DiRoNA's Governor of Tennessee.

WHEREAS, guided by a clear vision of success, a strong will to succeed, and uncommon enthusiasm and intelligence, Mario Ferrari has an uncanny talent to kindle interest in what he is doing and in what is happening in the Nashville restaurant industry; and

WHEREAS, endowed with an independent and entrepreneurial spirit, Mario Ferrari has owned and operated Mario's Italian Restaurant at 2005 Broadway for more than thirty-five years where he has achieved great success in the restaurant business and has built a national reputation among his clientele; and

WHEREAS, Mario Ferrari, whose expertise is in the restaurant business, not only has accepted the role as the 2001 Distinguished Restaurants of North America's (DiRoNA's) Governor of Tennessee but also serves on DiRoNA's board of directors and is a member of it's Hall of Fame; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished award is given to a restaurant owner who has given at least twenty-five years of dedicated service and significant contributions to the distinguished dining industry; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Ferrari is as committed to his family as he is to his business; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Mario Ferrari on becoming one of the premiere icons of the restaurant business in Music City and commend him on his latest achievement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Mario Ferrari on being named DiRoNA's Governor of Tennessee.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Mario Ferrari.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
