RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-900

A resolution recognizing Kyle Johnson Landry upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.

WHEREAS, on Sunday, November 4, 2001, Kyle Johnson Landry, was presented with his Eagle Scout Award at the Eagle Court of Honor; and

WHEREAS, a candidate for the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank of recognition offered in scouting, one must complete a rigorous program of training and demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques and attainment of the highest ideals of scouting; and

WHEREAS, Kyle Johnson Landry, a valued member of Troop 99, is a dedicated young man who has earned the respect and administration of his fellow scouts through his active participation in the many programs sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, Kyle Johnson Landry began his scouting career in Madison, Wisconsin in 1996, before joining Troop 99 in 1997, were he has gone on to earn 21 merit badges, demonstrated superior leadership skills as a Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Chaplain and Librarian; and

WHEREAS, his eagle scout project included working over 90 man hours to modify and maintain a portion of the Ganier Ridge Trail at Radnor Lake; and

WHEREAS, during his scouting career Kyle has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principals of honesty, fairness, and service to the community and has consistently conducted himself in a manner becoming an Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Kyle Johnson Landry for his diligence, determination, and dedication in pursuing and achieving the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Kyle Johnson Landry upon receiving the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.

SECTION 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Kyle Johnson Landry.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
