RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1296
A resolution approving the compromise and settlement of the lawsuit of Willie
G. Hill b/n/f Nina Hill against The Metropolitan Government for the amount of
fifteen thousand four hundred forty-nine dollars and forty-nine cents ($15,449.49)
and directing that this amount be paid out of the Judgments and Losses Fund.
Whereas, on June 21, 2000, Willie G. Hill b/n/f Nina Hill was instructed
by Metro Parks and Recreation employee Betty White to cross Metro Center Boulevard
without supervision. Willie G. Hill was struck by an automobile while crossing
Metro Center Boulevard and sustained personal injuries; and
Whereas, a result of these injuries, Willie G. Hill b/n/f Nina Hill filed a lawsuit against the Metropolitan Government claiming negligence; and
Whereas, after thorough investigation of this incident, the Department of Law believes that the settlement set forth in Section 1 below is fair and reasonable, and recommends that this lawsuit be compromised and settled as to all parties and claims and that said amount be paid out of the Judgments and Losses Fund.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the lawsuit of Willie G. Hill b/n/f Nina Hill against the Metropolitan Government for the amount of fifteen thousand four hundred forty-nine dollars and forty-nine cents ($15,449.49) and that said amount should be paid from the Judgments and Losses Fund.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
