RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1283


A resolution requesting the Central Business Improvement District, the Downtown Partnership, The District, the Mayor’s Office, the Department of Public Works, and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development to establish a program to provide for the display of appropriate holiday decorations and banners during the holiday season of the year 2002 and in the future.

WHEREAS, to enhance the beauty of Downtown Nashville in the central business district, and to promote a festive holiday atmosphere, it is fitting and appropriate that a program be established to provide for the display of holiday decorations and banners to be erected for this year’s holiday season and in the future.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. That the Central Business Improvement District, the Downtown Partnership, The District, the Mayor’s Office, the Department of Public Works, and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development establish a program to provide for the display of appropriate holiday decorations and banners during the holiday season of the year 2000 and in the future.

SECTION 2. That the Metropolitan Clerk shall send a certified copy of this Resolution to the members of the Central Business Improvement District, to the members of the Downtown Partnership, to the Mayor, to the Director of the Department of Public Works, and to the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development.

SECTION 3. That the Central Business Improvement District, to the members of the Downtown Partnership, to the Mayor, to the Director of the Department of Public Works, and to the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development are further requested to inform The Metropolitan Council of the feasibility and/or the actions taken in compliance with the request contained in Section 1 thereof, not later than sixty (60) days after the adoption of this Resolution.

SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
