RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1264


A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Public Works to accept the Fiscal Year 2002/2003 Recycling Rebate, in the amount of $157,067.00 from the state of Tennessee, acting by and through the Department of Environment and Conservation.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to receive a recycling rebate in the amount of $157,067.00 from the State of Tennessee, Department of Environment and Conservation; and

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government desires to utilize the funds for various recycling projects;

WHEREAS, The State of Tennessee rebate program requires a local match of equal dollars; and

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government has incurred costs in excess of the required matching amount through the purchase of waste collection equipment.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Department of Public Works is authorized to accept recycling rebate funds from The State of Tennessee for fiscal year 2003/2003, in the amount of $157,067.00.

SECTION 2. The funds referred to in Section 1 are hereby appropriated to the Metropolitan Government's Solid Waste Grant fund (Fund No. 30502, BU42301500) for Fiscal Year 2002/2003 for purchase of equipment.

SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
