RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1248

A resolution approving an amendment to the grant from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide Families First support services to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center.

Whereas, Resolution No. RS2002-1095 approved grant contract no. 02-09-999-809-FIRST from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, in an amount not to exceed three million two hundred eight thousand nine hundred ninety nine dollars and thirty-six cents ($3,208,999.36) to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide Families First support services to be administered through the Nashville Career Advancement Center under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998; and

Whereas, the parties wish to amend said grant by decreasing the grant award by one million eighty seven thousand eight hundred fifty nine dollars and twenty four cents ($1,087,859.24) for a total grant award of two million one hundred twenty one thousand one hundred forty dollars and twelve cents ($2,121,140.12); and,

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be accepted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

Section 1. The amendment to grant contract no. 02-09-999-809-FIRST from the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Career Advancement Center, which amendment decreases the grant award by one million eighty seven thousand eight hundred fifty nine dollars and twenty four cents ($1,087,859.24) for a total grant award of two million one hundred twenty one thousand one hundred forty dollars and twelve cents ($2,121,140.12), a copy of which is attached hereto, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute said amendment.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
