RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1241
A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Mayor to enter into a cooperative
agreement with the United States Department of the Interior - United States
Geological Survey for continuation of a program to operate and maintain a UVM
gauge on the Cumberland River and a rainfall runoff-gauging network for several
streams in the Metropolitan area of Nashville.
WHEREAS, The United States Department of Interior – United States Geological Survey has an existing agreement with Metro to operate and maintain a UVM gauge on the Cumberland River and a rainfall runoff-gauging network for several streams in the Metropolitan area of Nashville; and
WHEREAS, The United States Department of Interior – United States Geological Survey and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting through the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services wish to continue the existing agreement for another year at a fixed cost of $57,550.00; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. BL2001-870 authorizes the Metropolitan Mayor to execute future agreements of this program by Resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
SECTION 1: That the Metropolitan Mayor, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute Agreement No. TN454700100, copy attached as Exhibit A.
SECTION 2: That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
