RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1225


A resolution recognizing Loews Vanderbilt Hotel general manager Tom Negri.


WHEREAS, Tom Negri, general manager of Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, was named Outstanding General Manager of the Year by the Tennessee Hotel & Lodging Association; and

WHEREAS, this award is given annually to recognize a general manager who has demonstrated outstanding contributions of leadership, service and community and/or civic affairs; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Negri is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and development of the hotel; and

WHEREAS, since moving to Nashville in 1997, Mr. Negri has served as past president of the Nashville Hotel & Lodging Association, chairman of the board for the Tennessee State University Foundation, a member of the Board of Regents for Tennessee State University, currently serving on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement and a member of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce Aviation Board; and

WHEREAS, some of his numerous awards for his accomplishments, include the Anne Arundel Trade Council Business Leader of the Year, the Annapolis Chamber of Commerce Director of the Year, the Boy Scouts of America Baltimore Area Council’s Good Scout Award, Annapolis Times’ Volunteer of the Year, the Governor’s Good Corporate Citizen of the Year and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major Award; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes general manager Tom Negri for his achievements and contributions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Loews Vanderbilt Hotel general manager Tom Negri.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Tom Negri, general manager of Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
