RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1224


A resolution recognizing the Joseph B. Knowles Home for the Aged.


WHEREAS, the year 2002 marks an important milestone for the Joseph B. Knowles Home for the Aged, as this distinguished adult care organization is celebrating thirty (30) years of serving the elderly population of Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, not only does this facility provide supportive services to those low income elderly citizens who can no longer live independently, but provides quality services that promote the highest possible level of functioning in all areas of their life; and

WHEREAS, some of the services that the Joseph B. Knowles Home for the Aged provide are assistance with medication, laundry and housekeeping services, transportation to medical appointments and assistance with numerous other day to day operations of daily living; and

WHEREAS, this facility works tirelessly with in the community to provide a better quality of life for the elderly and promotes the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the Joseph B. Knowles Home for the Aged for their public service to the community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the Joseph B. Knowles Home for the Aged.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Donna Martin, Program Coordinator on behalf of the Joseph B. Knowles Home for the Aged.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
