RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1222


A resolution recognizing Robert “Vic” Lineweaver.


WHEREAS, Robert “Vic” Lineweaver was elected as a member of the Metropolitan Council in 1983, and subsequently was re-elected for three terms demonstrating his service to the community; and

WHEREAS, by serving for such an extended time, Mr. Lineweaver represented the Metropolitan Council District 35 with honor and dedication; and

WHEREAS, a member of the Metropolitan Council, Robert “Vic” Lineweaver served with distinction and exhibited leadership qualities that resulted in the adoption of significant improvements in the area of the Metropolitan Government in public education, public works, dramatic increases in recreational opportunities, in sports, and economic development; and

WHEREAS, Robert “Vic” Lineweaver, Vice President of Bellevue Patrol & Security, Inc., which is known throughout Nashville and Davidson County, has worked in the family business for many years where he oversees the day to day operations; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Lineweaver has had affiliations, memberships and positions of leadership with the Nashville, Donelson-Hermitage, and Bellevue Chambers of Commerce; Al Menah Temple; Lion’s Club; Moose Lodge; Bellevue Masonic Lodge; Una School PTO; Harpeth Valley School PTO; Nature Conservancy; Special Olympics; Ducks Unlimited; Davidson County Foster and Adoption Committee; Senior Citizens; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Lineweaver is a proud and devoted father to his two children, Kayla and Michael, as well as a member of the Bellevue Church of Christ; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Lineweaver was elected to the Office of Juvenile Court Clerk by the Council in December of 1988 and served in said office until August 31, 1990; and

WHEREAS, he was elected to the Office of Juvenile Court Clerk in August of 2002; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Robert “Vic” Lineweaver not only for his faithful, untiring dedicated public service to the residents of his district, but to all citizens of the Metropolitan Government as a member of the Metropolitan Council.


NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Robert “Vic” Lineweaver.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to prepare a hand-lettered scroll to be presented to Robert “Vic” Lineweaver.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
