RESOLUTION NO. RS2002-1217

A resolution approving an amendment to a lease agreement by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission and Martha O’Bryan Center, Inc.

Whereas, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission has negotiated a lease agreement with Martha O’Bryan Center, Inc., to lease office space at 711 South 7th Street, Nashville, TN 37206, and such lease was approved by Bill No. BL099-1558; and

Whereas, the parties amended the lease by extending the term dates to July 1, 2001 to June 30, 2002 at the monthly rental rate of six hundred ($600) dollars and such amendment was approved by Resolution No. RS2001-647; and

Whereas, the parties wish to further amend the lease by extending the lease term from July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2003 at the current monthly rental rate of six hundred ($600) dollars; and

Whereas, Bill No. BL099-1558 provided that amendments to this lease shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty one affirmative votes; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment to the lease agreement be approved.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1: That the amendment to the lease agreement entered into between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County acting by and through Metropolitan Social Services Commission and the Martha O’Bryan Center, Inc., to lease office space at 711 South 7th Street, Nashville, TN 37206, which extends the lease term from July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2003 at the current monthly rental rate of six hundred ($600) dollars a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan County Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2: That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
